"Ravenfeather & Spalding" are two solo artists who joined forces in xxxx to create what is exceptionally rare in show business: a truly unique and entertaining musical blend of the highest quality. Though the pic shows us in mostly Native and/or more casual situations, they dress for the occasion and are able to dress to "the 9's" for weddings, formal receptions, etc.
Alex "Ravenfeather" Taussig is one of the world's foremost practicioners of the Native American Wood Flute and a great sax player who was a jazz major at CSUB playing in the same band as John Snider (Eddie Money) and Paul Perez (Tower of Power).
Robert Lloyd "Duke" Spalding is an accomplished guitarist, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and arranger.
Singly, they are in the elite echelons of their respective areas-together they create an incredible musical entity that must be heard to be truly understood and appreciated. While they are capable of, and enjoy doing, concerts, their music is well-suited for private parties, corporate events, fine dining establishments, wine tastings, weddings/receptions, etc. Being in the background doesn't bother them nor does being in the spotlight, just as long as they are performing the music they love.
Besides doing their own orginal songs they cover a wide range of other artists as well. Unless specifically requested to perform only as a duo, their performances usually include solo sections by each artist which, in essense, provides 3 acts for the price of 1.
